Steven Gerrard admitted that he was »amazed and flattered » to hear Liverpool director Jurgen Klopp tipping him as his successor.
Klopp, who was named Greatest FIFA men’s trainer on Monday, stated he thinks Rangers boss Gerrard would be.
« If Liverpool were to sack me tomorrow, then perhaps Kenny [Dalglish] would be the first decision to replace me, but they’d probably bring Stevie down from Glasgow, » Klopp told Four Two. « If you ask who must follow with me, I would say Stevie. I assist him when I can. »
He hopes and expects that the German would be at Anfield for years to come, while Gerrard, who skippered the negative to the Champions League in 2005 and also made 710 looks, was grateful for the remarks of Klopp.
« I was surprised and flattered at precisely the exact same period, » Gerrard said when asked regarding Klopp’s comments. « But when you read the quote really carefully, just like I have, » said,’when I get sacked tomorrow’ he believes Steven Gerrard should be the next Liverpool supervisor.
« Jurgen Klopp is not getting sacked tomorrow. I don’t want him to get. He is doing a fantastic job.
« I am a Liverpool fan. I’m certain every fan on the planet endorses what I am saying here. We need him to remain for many years and bring to our club up to success.
